Bombay Swadeshi Stores, which was started by freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak in 1906 and is now known as The Bombay Store has planned to expand its online inventory. The company has already begun expanding its team in charge of its online store, and is also adding a lot of merchandise. Bombay Store had launched its ecommerce division in April 2010.

expansion opportunities on the World Wide Web and people are getting accustomed to online shopping as broadband internet penetration grows. According to Asim Dalal, Managing Director, The Bombay Stores, ecommerce will not have a significant contribution to its total sales this year, but the company expects online sales to gradually increase over the years.
